La ciudad

 

 ELS/St. Louis está ubicado en University of MIssoury, en una hermosa zona  céntrica, St. Louis ofrece todas las ventajas de una gran ciudad cosmopolita, a la vez de ser la sexta ciudad con menor costo de vida entre las 20 mejores áreas metropolitanas de los Estados Unidos.

  • Las atracciones entre St. Louis y Chicago son conocidas como “Lo mejor de la Ruta 66”, en referencia a la famosa autopista de 4000 kilómetros de largo que se extiende entre Chicago y California. Entre las atracciones se cuentan las cavernas de Meramec, el puente peatonal más largo del mundo y el parque de atracciones Six Flags St. Louis®.
  • St. Louis brinda a los estudiantes la posibilidad de conocer las raíces de la música estadounidense a través de estilos tales como el blues, jazz, ragtime y Rock n’ Roll en la zona céntrica del “Loop”.

Gateway Arch

  • St. Louis is known worldwide as the “Gateway to the West” and is home to the world-famous Gateway Arch. The Arch is the tallest man-made monument in the U.S and rises 192 meters while providing a beautiful 55-kilometer panoramic view of St. Louis and the Mississippi River.

Route 66

  • The famous 4,000-kilometer Route 66 highway runs from Chicago to California. However, the attractions between St. Louis and Chicago are known as the “Best of Route 66” and include the Meramec Caverns, the longest pedestrian bridge and Six Flags St. Louis®

The Loop

  • “The Loop”, named after an old streetcar turnaround, offers live music at international restaurants and clubs.  At the center of the Loop is the well-known Blueberry Hill restaurant, complete with Rock n’ Roll memorabilia including displays dedicated to the Beatles, Elvis and more

  • St. Louis is nicknamed “North America’s Best Sports City” with professional sports teams including baseball's Cardinals, hockey’s Blues and American football’s Rams.

Accommodations: Campus residence hall housing provides students with double-occupancy rooms. Rooms include a meal plan, linen, Internet connection and local telephone service. Telephone cards need to be used for long distance service. 

Check-in Time: 12 noon to 9 p.m.

Check-out Time:  1:00pm (Saturday)

Meals: No disponible.

Telephone Service: Provided in dorm rooms. Local and incoming calls are free; a calling card is required for long-distance service.

Laundry Facilities: Coin-operated washers & dryers ($0.75 per load) in residence hall.

Minimum Age: 18 (17 with parent’s signature).

Accommodations: Homestay accommodations offer private room lodging with an American host. A continental breakfast and a prepared dinner are provided daily. To guarantee a homestay for your first session of attendance, advance reservations are recommended.

Check-in Time: Students should arrive at their homestay between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. the Sunday before their session begins.

Check-out Time:  1:00 p.m. (Saturday)

Meals: 14 per week

Alojamiento en apartamentos

 

Married student housing is not available on campus.  Off campus availability is limited.  If possible, it is recommended that the student arrive first, arrange for housing, and then send for the family.  Although married students and families will receive all necessary assistance to help them obtain suitable off-campus housing, it can take up to three weeks to arrange.
