Atracciones locales y areas de interes

A major metropolitan area, the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis offer city life full of many cultural and recreational opportunities while maintaining a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Minnesota is also known for the beauty of its natural environment – in any season of the year.

The Mall of America
The largest shopping/entertainment complex in the United States, the Mall of America is a favorite destination. Knott's Camp Snoopy is the largest indoor amusement park in the US, complete with rollercoasters. Play mini-golf, see a movie, have dinner or just spend time shopping at over 500 stores.

Metro-area lakes/Recreation areas
Many of Minnesota's 12,000 lakes are located in the metro area. The lakes offer fun water activities such as swimming, canoeing, boating, and sail-boarding. In the winter, there's always ice skating. Hiking, bicycling, and rollerblading are popular activities along the lakes and Mississippi River.

Museums/art galleries/theaters
There are over 140 museums and art galleries in St. Paul/Minneapolis, including the Science Museum and Omni Theater in downtown St. Paul. Attend Broadway productions at the many theaters or musical concerts by the Minnesota Orchestra or St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.

Valley Fair Amusement Park
One of the largest amusement parks in the Midwest, ValleyFair is a fun summer destination.

Minneapolis and St. Paul are often referred to as the Twin Cities, since they are separated only by the Mississippi River.

  • St. Paul is the historic capital city of Minnesota with friendly neighborhoods and old-world charm, while Minneapolis is home to many "Fortune 500" companies, boasting shimmering skyscrapers and cosmopolitan nightlife.
  • Closest airport: Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, served by 13 major airlines and 4 regional carriers. (15 minutes from the airport to ELS Language Centers)
  • Population: nearly 3 million people in the Twin Cities metropolitan area
  • Average temperature ranges from -7°C in January to 28°C in July (There is a unique climate-controlled skyway system connecting buildings in downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul so you don't have to brave the weather.)
  • The Twin Cities supports 3 professional athletic teams: baseball lovers can cheer on the Minnesota Twins, football season brings people to see the Minnesota Vikings, and the Minnesota Timberwolves play basketball in Minneapolis.
